FIST AWARDS

It is a pleasure to announce that the prestigious comics award in Nigeria, COMICPANEL FIST AWARDS 2018 has begun entries from JULY 1 – JULY 31, 2018.

Note: ONLY ENTRIES MADE TO THE OFFICIAL EMAIL ACCOUNT WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE SCORING PANEL AND ANY AWARD PRESENTATION!!!

 

Below are the various categories to be entered for this year;

• COMICPANEL FIST AWARDS FOR COMIC BEST WRITER, 2018
• COMICPANEL FIST AWARDS FOR COMIC BEST ARTIST, 2018
• COMICPANEL FIST AWARDS FOR COMIC BEST COLORIST, 2018
• COMICPANEL FIST AWARDS FOR COMIC NEOPHYTE AWARDS, 2018
• COMICPANEL FIST AWARDS FOR BEST CHILD-FRIENDLY COMIC, 2018
• COMICPANEL FIST AWARDS FOR BEST COMIC POSTER, 2018
• COMICPANEL FIST AWARDS FOR COMIC BEST PUBLISHER, 2018
• COMICPANEL FIST AWARDS FOR COMIC BEST SCIENCE-FICTION, 2018
• COMICPANEL FIST AWARDS FOR BEST ANIMATION SHORT, 2018
• COMICPANEL FIST AWARDS FOR BEST-PACKAGED COMIC, 2018
• COMICPANEL FIST AWARDS FOR COMIC FAN CHOICE AWARD, 2018

Two of the categories from last year’s ComicPanel Fist Awards have been dropped for reasons of duplicity and lack of competition in the categories. These categories are;

• Best Africa Oriented Award
• Most Consistent Comic Award

All entries must be comics and posters published from August 1, 2017 to July 31, 2018. Stated below are the process for submission for entries into different categories.

 

1. Send your entries only to the official ComicPanel fist awards email address, [email protected]
2. Address the subject as ComicPanel Fist Award Entry
3. For multiple entries, enter each of the entries for the categories you want and add the following important details,
   • Add the titles, the short synopsis and names(for best writer, artist and colorist categories)
   • Include an active download link to the comics for the entries made.
   • Send proof of publishing date by either sending a link to view or an image as proof.
   • All entries must contents based on heroes and characters of African descent, or storyline based on African concepts.
4. Confirm your entry as successful when you receive a reply mail from ComicPanel.

 

 

 

This year, the ComicPanel team have put up of a highly powered team of satisfactory judges. They are;

 

ABUBAKAR BELLO (Nigeria), a seasoned film producer and screen writer.

RON LANCELOT (France), Journalist in French newspaper and a comic aficionado.

DIANA ROSU (Romania), Animation festival convener in Ghana.

HETTY ORKUMA (Nigeria), Comic book shop owner in Abuja and comics aficionado.

THOMAS IMBOYWA (Kenya), convener of Nairobi Comic Convention (NAICCON)

LES ALLEN (South Africa), ICON convener, a South African based gaming and comics expo.

OBIDIKE OKAFOR (Nigeria), Veteran journalist and newspaper columnist.
